MacPaint - fast erase - go to Show Page and slide the page around until the part you wish to erase is off the screen.  You must grab the paper outside of the selection rectangle in order to slide it.  This is permanent.  (Unless you have saved the picture and can reload it.)   So, don't let go of the mouse button until you are sure.
